Teresa Anjinho takes part in the roundtable devoted to &quot;Patient-centered health policies&quot; under the theme &quot;Ombudsman: when and how to appeal.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>In Portugal there are about 40,000 patients diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, a chronic inflammatory disease that can limit the daily gestures of these patients, such as opening a door, grabbing a pen or putting on shoes.<\/p>\n<p>The Ombudsman is an independent state body that defends people who see their fundamental rights violated or feel harmed by unfair or unlawful acts of the administration or other public authorities.
