Today is an opportunity to pay tribute to those who strive daily to combat all forms of torture and ill-treatment. The Ombudsman, as a National Prevention Mechanism, reaffirms his solidarity with the victims and his commitment to fight for the eradication of a practice that clashes with fundamental notions of human rights.<\/p>\n<div>In troubled times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this is also a time to remember that under no circumstances are there exceptions allowing the use of torture.
