{"id":27415,"date":"2021-11-20T00:01:00","date_gmt":"2021-11-20T00:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.provedor-jus.pt\/?p=27415"},"modified":"2021-12-07T18:41:07","modified_gmt":"2021-12-07T18:41:07","slug":"ombudsman-marks-the-universal-day-of-the-rights-of-the-child","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.provedor-jus.pt\/en\/ombudsman-marks-the-universal-day-of-the-rights-of-the-child\/","title":{"rendered":"Ombudsman marks the Universal Day of the Rights of the Child"},"content":{"rendered":"<!-- RS_MODULE_CODE_2.5.3 --> <div id=\"readspeaker_button27415\" class=\"rs_skip rs_preserve\"><a class=\"rs_href\" title=\"Ouvir com ReadSpeaker\" href=\"https:\/\/app-eu.readspeaker.com\/cgi-bin\/rsent?customerid=6394&amp;lang=pt_pt&amp;readid=rspeak_read_27415&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.provedor-jus.pt%2Fen%2Fwp-json%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fposts%2F27415\" onclick=\"readpage(this.href, 'xp27415'); return false;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.provedor-jus.pt\/wp-content\/plugins\/enterprise_expanding_hl_wordpress-2x\/img\/icon_16px.gif\" alt=\"Ouvir com ReadSpeaker\" style=\"display: inline-block; margin-right: 5px;\"\/>Ouvir<\/a><\/div><div id=\"xp27415\" class=\"rs_addtools rs_splitbutton rs_preserve rs_skip rs_exp\"><\/div><div id=\"rspeak_read_27415\">\n<p>On 20 November, we celebrate the 32nd anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1989, signed by Portugal on 26 January 1990 and approved, for ratification, by Resolution no. 20\/90 of the Assembly of the Republic, on 8 June 1990.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Welcoming a new vision on the unquestionable position of the child as an autonomous subject of Law, holder of his\/her own rights and, for that reason, entitled to special attention from the State, the community and the citizens in order to defend and promote them, the Convention has created the legal and political foundations of the modern Family and Children&#8217;s Law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the recent past and in the present, we have seen how the non-sanitary effects of the pandemic caused by SARS-CoV2 have hit children and young people particularly hard. We now know in greater depth the consequences that measures of confinement, cessation of classroom lessons and social distancing &#8211; although necessary &#8211; have had on educational trajectories and the physical and emotional wellbeing of children.
