Bilateral Cooperation
An important part of the international activity of the Ombudsman consists in the development of a dialogue and cooperation ties with institutions from other countries, whether Ombudsmen or National Human Rights Institutions.
At the bilateral level, the cooperation assumes different forms depending on the needs felt in each specific moment, ranging from support in handling com-plaints, the exchange of information and experience, the promotion of events and joint publications and the organization of reciprocal working visits, amongst others.
Cooperation with foreign counterparts has sometimes been formalized through the signing of protocols and cooperation agreements.
