Miguel Feldmann was born in Lisbon on 18 October 1967. He graduated in Law from the Faculty of Law of Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Lisbon and attended the Institute for European Studies at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. A legal adviser and lawyer, he served as an Adviser to the Ombudsperson from 1999 to 2007. After serving as an Assistant in the Office of the Secretary of State for Internal Administration, he returned to the Ombudsperson’s Office in 2009. Between 2014 and 2015, he worked at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva. He has participated in various human rights promotion and international cooperation activities as an expert and trainer. He has been a member of the National Preventive Mechanism since 2016 and has served as its Coordinator since 2022.
