Ombudsman Marks 50th Anniversary with Award for Higher Education Students

As part of its 50th-anniversary celebrations, the Ombudsman is launching the “50 Years of the Ombudsman” Award, open to undergraduate and graduate students in all fields of study who are enrolled in higher education institutions in Portugal.

The initiative aims to raise students’ awareness of fundamental rights and encourage reflection and the production of new studies on the institution, its mandate, and its areas of activity, in light of the emerging challenges that shape collective life and the Ombudsman’s work.

Applications will be accepted through March 31, 2027. They must be submitted in Portuguese and in digital format, via the application form and in accordance with the regulations, and sent to the email address premio50anos@provedor-jus.pt.
