Deputy Ombudsman at the UN Forum on Business and Human Rights

The Deputy Ombudsman Teresa Anjinho participated in the Working Group on Business and Human Rights and attended the United Nations Forum on the same topic. Both initiatives took place in Geneva on 26 and 27 November.

The Working Group on Human Rights Issues, Transnational Corporations and Other Companies was established by the Human Rights Council in 2011 (resolution 17/4). The Working Group is composed of five independent experts with balanced geographical representation.

Teresa Anjinho is a representative of Europe in the Working Group on Business and Human Rights of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI). This is one of the three working groups of this worldwide network that participates in the United Nations Forum on Business and Human Rights, the largest annual event on the topic that brings together representatives of governments, businesses, investors, community and civil society groups, trade unions, academia, together with heads of UN bodies and national human rights institutions.
