28 November: “Encounters at the Ombudsman’s Office” promote debate on residential care for children and young people


On 28 November, the Ombudsman’s Office is promoting a new edition of “Encounters at the Ombudsman’s Office”, an initiative that aims to encourage reflection and dialogue on fundamental rights and issues relevant to society.

This third edition will focus on the theme “Caring, Protecting, Empowering: challenges of residential care for children and young people”, bringing together different perspectives and experiences in an informal and accessible setting.

Counsellor Graça Amaral, Vice-President of the Supreme Court of Justice, and child psychiatrist Pedro Strecht are invited to this session. The event is free of charge, subject to prior registration, and will take place at the Vilalva Palace, starting at 10:00 a.m.
