World Day of Social Justice
Today, February 20th, the World Day of Social Justice is celebrated.
The creation of this date, unanimously approved by the General Assembly of the United Nations in 2007, has its main purpose to stimulate the strengthening of the community efforts to eradicate poverty, promote full employment, decent work, gender equality, social welfare and justice. For 2018, the theme is: Workers on the Move: The Quest for Social Justice.
The Ombudsman of Portugal marks the date, emphasizing that Social Justice is essential for the well-being of all and that the whole community should cooperate in its implementation.
