Former Combatant Card. Useful information

The Ombudsman has received various complaints about delays in the issue of the Former Combatant’s Card, and it has been established that these delays are often the result of out-of-date data from the applicants.

In order to update this data, interested parties may access the Balcão Único da Defesa and submit the completed form, which is available there.

Alternatively, this form may be used, which, together with the documents mentioned therein, should then be sent to the email address antigos.combatentes@defesa.pt or to the Ministry of National Defence, Av. Ilha da Madeira, 1, 4th floor, room 486, 1400-204 Lisbon

The Ombudsman will continue to monitor this subject in relation to the Ministry of National Defence.
